Jill Harter Lennox, JD, President

Jill Lennox

Jill is the recently retired Executive Director of Administration of Pittsford Youth Services. After receiving her B.S. in Psychology, she earned her J.D. from Albany Law School of Union University, worked as a general practice attorney, and then spent over 25 years holding various nonprofit leadership positions while raising her three children. Through these experiences, Jill developed skills in fundraising, event planning, marketing, nonprofit management, financial oversight and budgeting, and volunteer coordination. After serving on the Founding Board of the Leadership Rochester training program, she has focused on nonprofits working on behalf of women, children and families. A 20-year member and past President of the Junior League of Rochester, Jill’s Board service also included Strong Families/Strong Communities Advisory Board, the YWCA of Rochester and Monroe County, Allen Creek School PTSA, the Pittsford School District Board of Education and Pittsford Crew. Jill was honored for her work by the Junior League as the recipient of the Recognition of Service Excellence (ROSE) Award, the YWCA Esther Hale Gosnell Volunteer Leadership Award and the PTSA Exceptional Volunteer Award. She is now enjoying retirement and spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren.

Brendan Cooper, LCSW, Vice President

Brendan Cooper

Brendan lives in Rochester, and has been working as a therapist for over a decade. He currently is in private practice as an affiliate of Tree of Hope Counseling, focusing on addressing the barriers associated with a number of mental health diagnoses, particularly addictions and trauma. Prior to his work in private practice, Brendan worked as a therapist for a community mental health program in Monroe County, providing individual and group work with a diverse community of adults. Brendan previously served on the Board of The What’s Next Sorority. He also has worked as an educator, supporting middle and high school aged students in special education programs, and as an adjunct faculty member at SUNY Brockport’s graduate Social Work program. Brendan is looking forward to using his professional experiences and working with the other members of the Tree of Hope Foundation Board to provide much needed support to address trauma in the community.

Brett Holberg, Financial Planner, Treasurer

Brett Holberg

Brett hails from Watertown, NY. Now settled in Scottsville, NY with his wife, Emily, a Nurse Practitioner at Tree of Hope Counseling, and their sons, Sam and Adrian. A Hobart College grad of 2014, Brett has been a Financial Planner for nine years, following a brief stint in the Finger Lakes wine industry. Brett had an early start to charitable work when as a youth volunteer, he was part of several missionary trips to Mexico and New Orleans, helping to build houses for families in need. Now the Treasurer of the board, Brett hopes to continue his lifelong passion of service work and giving back. Brett’s other passions include trail running, lifting, history, wood working, cooking, golf, the Bills and spending time with family.

Mark Jones, MBA, CFP, Secretary

Mark Jones

Mark is a Partner with Rise Advisors, LLC a local financial planning and investment management firm. He graduated from Cornell University in 2001 with a BS in Applied Economics and Management and in 2006 obtained his MBA from St. John Fisher University. Mark enjoys spending time with his amazing family, golfing, reading, and embracing time with good friends. His prior volunteer experience involves time spent with Junior Achievement and the Cornell Club of Rochester, in addition to adjunct teaching at the St. John Fisher School of Business. He is excited to be affiliated with the Tree of Hope Foundation and for the work we are doing with the local community.

Joseph Calloway

Joseph Calloway

Joe Calloway is a retired electrician from Rochester Regional Health. He worked for Rochester General Hospital (RGH)for 42 years starting in the cafeteria as a supervisor. After completing the electrical apprenticeship programs at BOCES and Monroe Community College Joe transitioned to the Engineering Department at RGH where he became the Senior Electrician for 37 years. His community volunteer work includes serving on the Isabella Graham Hart Nursing School Board of Directors, Director for the Youth Apprenticeship Program at RGH, member of the Diversity, Inclusion and Sustainability Committees at RGH, and team leader for Best Man Ministry at New Life Fellowship Church. Joe is married to Andrea M. Calloway, MS, Director of the Sunset House comfort care home located in Irondequoit, NY. Together they have seven children and four grandchildren. Joe enjoys playing volleyball and other competitive sports. His passion is to support the underserved and provide the resources to help them become stronger and successful people in this community.

Lisa Maynard, LMSW, ACSW

Lisa Maynard

Lisa is a Licensed Social Worker, earning an MSW and Trauma Counseling Certification from SUNY, Buffalo, a Post-Graduate Certificate in Adoption Therapy, Hunter College of Social Work, and certificate in Traumatic Stress Studies through the Justice Resource Institute, Cambridge, MA. Lisa holds a certificate in Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga from JRI’s Trauma Center and is a certified yoga and meditation teacher. She has expertise in trauma, loss and grief, attachment, mindfulness and child welfare and is a senior affiliate with Tree of Hope Counseling. Lisa is currently working as a TAC trainer with the Center for Adoption Support and Education (C.A.S.E.), and volunteers with state and local advocacy groups. She integrates Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga practice and philosophy, meditation, and mindfulness in her private practice, guiding clients to explore life challenges in a safe, supportive environment. Lisa has received the following honors: 2010 North American Council on Adoptable Children “Adoption Activist Award;” 2008 United States Department of Health and Human Services Excellence in Adoption Award; 2001 Congressional Honor “Angel in Adoption.” In 2008, she co-produced an 8-part TV news series by WROC TV8 Rochester NY receiving national attention and winning the Children’s Bureau’s 2008 Anna Quindlen Award.

Tony Tepedino, LMSW

Tony Tepedino

Tony graduated with a Masters in Social Work from SUNY Brockport. He has worked extensively with young adults and also enjoys supporting people of all ages who are trying to figure out what’s getting in the way of flourishing. Tony is passionate about creating safe environments for deep and vulnerable conversations that empowers clients to learn, grow, and make healthier choices to achieve their therapeutic goals. Tony also spent 25 years in the educational field, and has extensive experience working with young people and families dealing with the world of education. In his free time, Tony enjoys hiking, travel, cooking, and spending time with his fiancé, Jessica, and his family.

Kara Juszczak

Kara Juszczak

Kara is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Brainspotting Practitioner, Certified Compassion Fatigue Professional, and Co-Director of Tree of Hope Counseling. Kara brings over nineteen (19) years of post-graduate clinical experience, which includes school, community, medical, clinic-based settings, as well as graduate level social work teaching experience She specializes in individuals and families adjusting to life transitions, anxiety, chronic/critical illness, trauma, and grief/loss, by utilizing cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness-based, schema-focused, and brainspotting approaches. Kara has served on nonprofit boards in the past with Parenting Village and Concentus Women’s Chorus and was honored as one of Rochester Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 Professionals in 2019. Utilizing her clinical leadership role and nonprofit experience, Kara spearheaded the development of Tree of Hope Foundation with Co-Director of Tree of Hope Counseling, Pete Navratil. Pete Navratil

Pete Navratil

Pete is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and Co-Director of Tree of Hope Counseling. Pete offers person-centered, recovery-orientated, and trauma focused interventions tailored to the individual need of his clients. For over twenty-five (25) years he was a NYS CASAC (Retired-2018). He utilizes a psychodynamic-transformational model that incorporates CBT, Schema Focused Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, and the latest advances in the integration of neuroscience and psychotherapy. Pete's areas of focus include trauma, stress reduction, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, PTSD, Complex PTSD, grief and loss, men's issues, wellness, and professional self-care, and is a domestic violence sensitive therapist. In addition to individual counseling, he also provides couples/marriage counseling.
